Days 21 & 22: Yesterday, we left for our new campground, further south and closer to the Arizon Border in Kanab, Utah. We were so bummed that the Grand Canyon was officially closed yesterday:(
But Zion National Park is still currently open (seems likely it will also close soon). It's difficult to describe the magnitude and beauty of this park. A 13 mile road weaves through the mountains and canyons with various hiking trails and overlooks throughout.
Today felt perfectly like spring, 62 degrees f with lots of sunshine and great for exploring a few trails. First, we took the leisure route of The Narrows Trail, along a creek with plenty of waterfalls down the rock fronts. We found a more remote trail, Canyon Overlook Trail, that had us climbing the rocks along the mountain side, through a cave and ended high up in the canyon.
The new campground has nice moutain views and we've been grilling burgers like crazy. The neighbors are friendly, an older couple that escaped Upper State New York before the outbreak. Cheers all.
