Savannah, Georgia

Day 8: Downtown Savannah is so rich with historic architecture and southern vegitation. We were hesitant today, due to the Covid-19 numbers in the US continuing to rise (staggering rise to 11,000 today), but decided to cautiously explore via our car windows and any desolate parks. We were so happy to get a glimpse of the historic areas, including parks from early German and Austrian immigrants. It was sunny, 80 degrees and spring was certainly in the air.
Most streets and parks were empty, and we were encouraged that most are taking recommendations seriously. Although we have adhered to social distancing and precautions, we plan to further do our part to be a part of the solution and not the problem, and will stay secluded to our camp tomorrow, before heading west to locate an isolated area to hunker down for some time.
Thinking of all those we love tonight, knowing we'll get through this together. Xo
